     Solomon Earl Guth was born on 2 Feb 1896 in Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents, Joseph Guth and Magdalena Wagner.3 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, in the household of his parents.4
     Solomon married Elsie Angelia Heiple, daughter of William Augustus Heiple and Matilda Christina Glabe, on 11 Jan 1917 in Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois, with Rev. Valentine Strubhar officiating.11,12
     Solomon and Elsie settled in Woodford Co. after they married.
     Solomon registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1918, while living at Panola, Illinois, reporting he was employed as self-employed as a farmer in Panola Twp. He claimed exeption as a member of the Mennonite Church.18
     Solomon and Elsie appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Panola Twp., Woodford Co., Illinois, enumerated 9 Jan 1920, reporting they were renting their home. Their daughter Arlene was listed as living with them.19
     Solomon and Elsie appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Panola Twp., Woodford Co., Illinois, enumerated 15 Apr 1930, reporting they were renting their home and owned a radio. Their children Arlene, Robert and Duane were listed as living with them.20
     His wife died on 7 Jul 1936 in Bloomington, McLean Co., Illinois.21,22
     Solomon and his four children moved to McLean Co., the next county to the east, after the death of his wife. He appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Gridley Twp., McLean Co., Illinois, enumerated 5 Apr 1940, reporting he owned a home valued at $2,500. His children Arlene, Robert, Duane and Emerson were listed as living with him.23
     He was a farmer. He called himself a tenant farmer after he moved to McLean Co. in McLean Co., Illinois.19,20,23 He registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at Gridley, McLean Co., Illinois, reporting he was self-employed as a farmer in Gridley.1
     Solomon appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Gridley, McLean Co., Illinois, enumerated 18 Apr 1950, reporting he lived on a farm of over three acres and he lived in the same house the year before. His son Emerson was listed as living with him. Solomon reported he was unable to work, but had worked 52 weeks in 1949, earning $7,000 from his farm. A relative in the household, presumabley Emerson, had earned $1,800. He was apparently operating the farm, as reported his occupation as a farmer operating his own business, and had worked 84 hours the prior week.24
     Solomon died on 9 Mar 1979 at age 83.13,14,15 He was buried on 12 Mar 1979 in Glendale Cemetery, Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois.16,17
