     He was probably the male under age 5 listed in the household of his father, William Edzard Sublett, in the 1840 Federal Census of Hickman Co., Kentucky.17 He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Hickman Co., Kentucky, in the household of his parents.18,19
     His mother died on 10 Mar 1854, when William was 15 years old.20,21,22,23
     William appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Columbus, Hickman Co., Kentucky, in the household of Elizabeth Rose, his maternal grandmother.24,25
     William married Mary Anapola Mims, daughter of John H. Mims and Caroline Hanson Cresap, on 28 Mar 1866.10,11,12
     William and Mary appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Montgomery, Montgomery Co, Alabama, enumerated 7 Jul 1870, reporting personal estate of $350. Their children Walter and Mary were listed as living with them.26
     William and Mary appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Montgomery, Montgomery Co, Alabama, enumerated 4 Jun 1880. Their children Walter, Mary, Caroline, Willena and Sarah were listed as living with them, as was Julia McAlkin, a 35-years old mulatto, who was most likely a servant.27
