     John married Nellie Jane Brose, daughter of William Joseph H. Brose and Edna Caroline Shaffer, on 1 Aug 1893 in Highland Co., Ohio, with J. W. Rubie officiating, in his home.10,11,12
     John and Nellie appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Dodson Twp., Highland Co., Ohio, enumerated 11 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their farm. Their children Hugh, Clarence and Anna were listed as living with them.16
