Helen R. Nestler was born on 6 Oct 1883 in Parkersburg, West Virginia.6,7,8Helen has not been found in the 1900 Federal Census. She was not listed in the household of her father, Oswald B. Nestler, and stepmother, Phillippina Braeninger, who were listed with her younger siblings at 751 Second Ave., Dayton, Campbell Co., Kentucky, where she would later live with her second husband.15
Helen married first William Henry Capelle, son of William Capelle and Maria Wilhelmina Wieman, on 17 Aug 1906 in Hamilton Co., Ohio, with Rev. H. Haefner officiating.9,10
Helen and William appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 433 Handman Ave., enumerated 21 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their home, which was mortgaged.16
Her husband died on 9 Feb 1912 in 3584 Handman Ave., Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.17,18

Rupert disappeared from his houseboat at the foot of Clay St., Dayton, on 29 Mar 1934. Helen, who was still living in her family home on 2nd Ave., said he had been despondent and reported his disappearance to the police. They found his hat and coat on the boat and concluded he had drowned. But a friend reported seeing him in Cincinnati some time later, leaving the family to believe he was still alive. No further report of him has been found. She was shown as married in the 1940 census but he was not listed in the household. Her death certificate shows him as her husband and her as divorced, but no record of a divorce has been found.22,23,5

Helen appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Dayton, Campbell Co., Kentucky, at 810 3rd., enumerated 12 Apr 1940, reporting she owned a home valued at $3,500, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. Her son Clarence was listed as living with her.23
Helen died on 8 Jun 1947 in 810 3rd Ave., Dayton, Campbell Co., Kentucky, at age 63.5 She was buried on 11 Jun 1947 in Evergreen Cemetery, Southgate, Campbell Co., Kentucky.14
