Alfred Perry Demonbreun was born on 12 Jul 1904 in Nashville, Davidson Co., Tennessee.8,9,10He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Civil, Cheatham Co., Tennessee, in the household of his parents, Perry David Demonbreun and Sallie H. Gallaher.4 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Civil, Davidson Co., Tennessee, in the household of his parents.5
Alfred remained in Nashville until about 1929, when he was living at with his parents at 1020 White's Creek Rd., and working as a binder for Brandon Printing Company.18
Alfred moved to Detroit, Michigan, about 1930, when he was listed in the city directory at 194 East Grand Blvd.. He has not been found in the 1930 census, when he was not listed in that building.19
Alfred married Loretta Dugan, daughter of Bernard Dugan and Elizabeth Cassidy, about 1931. She had previously been married to Alvin Souder.11,12,13,14,15
AlfredAlfred and Loretta have not been found in the 1940. It appears they were living in Detroit during that time, but efforts to locate them in the census have been unsuccessful.
He was a book binder for Bertkhart Company for 33 years, reporting in the 1950 census he had worked 40 hours the prior week.20,21,22 He registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Feb 1942, while living at 7015 East Jefferson, Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, reporting he was employed by Burkhardt Company.3
Alfred and Loretta appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, at 728 Helen Ave., enumerated 18 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm.23
Alfred died on 29 Jul 1963, at his home, 7230 East Congress St., Detroit, Michigan, at age 59.16 He was buried on 3 Aug 1963 in St. Mary's, Hanover Twp., Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania.17
