     He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Uniontown Twp., Belmont Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, James Fritts and Esther Daniel.24 He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Scott Twp., Adams Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.25
     John graduated from Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio.26
     John appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Scott Twp., Adams Co., Ohio, enumerated 30 Jun 1870, in the household of James Crisswell, a farmer, and his wife and children. He was listed as a farm laborer.27
     He was a school teacher by 1880.28
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Newport Twp., Adams Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.29
     John married first Clara A. Walcott, daughter of Henry Walcott and Sarah Carey [surname unknown], on 4 Aug 1880 in Warren Co., Ohio.10,11
     John and Clara moved to Ohio before 1890.
     His wife died on 12 Nov 1893.30
