Hannah Kuhlman was born in 1841 in Pennsylvania.6,7,8Her mother died in 1844 or 1845, when Hannah was about 4 years old.11,12
She moved about 1844 to Wooster, Ohio, with her father, and perhaps with her mother, though it seems more likely she had died in Pennsylvania.13
She moved to Warren Twp., Huntington Co., Indiana, with her father in 1845.14,15,16,17 She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Huntington Co., Indiana, in the household of her father.4
Hannah appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, enumerated 4 Jun 1860, in the household of James R. Slack, an attorney, and his family, listed as a domestic.18
Hannah appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Huntington, Huntington Co., Indiana, enumerated 17 Jun 1870, in the household of James R. Slack and his family, listed as a house keeper.19
She was a dress maker by 1880.20
