     Pearl Nix was born on 12 Jun 1900 in Arkansas.8,9,10 Her formal name was apparently Leila Pearl, but she used her middle name almost exclusively.2,3
     She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Montague Co., Texas, in the household of her parents, Ernest Edward Nix and Armenta Jane Brandon.4 She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cooke Co., Texas, in the household of her parents.5
     Pearl married second Hugh Carlisle Kirkpatrick, son of Moses Clark Kirkpatrick and Carrie Imogene Maxwell, on 1 Dec 1928 in Swisher Co., Texas, with Rev. F. R. Pickens officating.11,12 They settled in Hale Co. after they married.
     She was a registered nurse.15
     Pearl and Hugh appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Plainview, Hale Co., Texas, at 613 W. Seventh, enumerated 12 Apr 1930, reporting that they were renting their home, for $35 per month.16
     Pearl and Hugh moved to Amarillo about 1931. They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at 801 Florida, enumerated 12 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $2,750 and had lived in the same city in 1935. Their daughter Patricia was listed as living with them.17
     Her husband died on 2 Oct 1964 in Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas.18,19
     Pearl died on 18 Feb 1983 in Potter Co., Texas, at age 82.13,14
