     Hugh Carlisle Kirkpatrick was born on 7 Jul 1893 in Mullin, Texas.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Mills Co., Texas, in the household of his parents, Moses Clark Kirkpatrick and Carrie Imogene Maxwell.4 He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Mills Co., Texas, in the household of his parents.5
     Hugh attended Daniel Baker College.16 He registered for the draft for World War I on 26 May 1917, while living at Mullin, Texas, reporting he was a student.2
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Mullin, Texas in the household of his mother.6
     He was a laborer in 1920. He joined a grocery firm in Brownwood, and was later transferred to Lubbock. He was salesman in the grocery business by 1930.17,18,19
     Hugh married Pearl Nix, daughter of Ernest Edward Nix and Armenta Jane Brandon, on 1 Dec 1928 in Swisher Co., Texas, with Rev. F. R. Pickens officating.11,12 They settled in Hale Co. after they married.
     Hugh and Pearl appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Plainview, Hale Co., Texas, at 613 W. Seventh, enumerated 12 Apr 1930, reporting that they were renting their home, for $35 per month.20
     Hugh and Pearl moved to Amarillo about 1931. They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at 801 Florida, enumerated 12 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $2,750 and had lived in the same city in 1935. Their daughter Patricia was listed as living with them.21
     By 1940 he was a warehouse foreman for a wholesale grocery business. That year he reported he had worked 48 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,800. By the time of his death he had become a warehouse manager in a wholesale paper business.22,23
     Hugh died on 2 Oct 1964 in Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas, at age 71.1,13 He was buried on 5 Oct 1964 in Llano Cemetery, Amarillo, Potter Co., Texas.14,15
