     Modena Caroline Walker was born on 10 Aug 1861 in Hickman Co., Kentucky.6,7
     She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Columbus, Hickman Co., Kentucky, in the household of her parents, James Pembroke Walker and Modena A. Cobb.14
     Her father died before 1880, when Modena was about 16 years old.15
     Modena appeared with her mother, on the 1880 Federal Census of Columbus, Hickman Co., Kentucky, in the household of John Mercer Walker, her brother.16
     Modena married Jabish Hyacinth Woodward, son of Cordon Roswell Woodward and Christine M. Christman, on 12 Oct 1881 in Hickman Co., Kentucky, with the consent of her mother since she was under age, with Rev. A. J. Reeis offciating.8,9,10
     Modena joined Jabish in Illinois, where he had been living, after their marriage.
     Modena and Jabish appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Cairo, Alexander Co., Illinois, enumerated 8 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their home. Their children Modena, Jabish, Christine, John and Marion were listed as living with them, as was her mother and Nellie Hall, a roomer.17
     Modena was named executrix and heir in the will of her brother John, dated 3 Oct 1902 in Chatham Co., Georgia, in which he left her his entire estate.18 She was qualified as executrix of her brother John's will when it was proved 27 Mar 1907.19

     Modena and Jabish appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cairo, Alexander Co., Illinois, at 1101 Walnut St., enumerated 16 Apr 1930, reporting they owned a home valued at $2,500, and owned a radio. Their children Christine and Marion were listed as living with them.22
     Her husband died on 2 Oct 1939 in Cairo, Alexander Co., Illinois.23,24
     Modena appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Cairo, Alexander Co., Illinois, at 1101 Walnut St., enumerated 8 May 1940, reporting they had lived in the same house in 1935. Her children Christine and Marion were listed as living with her.25
     Modena died on 21 Apr 1947 in Alexander Co., Illinois, at age 85.11,12 She was buried in Cairo City Cemetery, Villa Ridge, Pulaski Co., Illinois.13
