     Lucy Ann Ragdale was born on 27 Oct 1837 in Tennessee.7,8,9
     She was probably one of the two females under age 5 listed in the household of her father, William J. Ragdale, in the 1840 Federal Census of Montgomery Co., Tennessee.16
     She moved to Kentucky with her parents about 1850.17 She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Trigg Co., Kentucky, in the household of her parents, William J. Ragdale and Emily J. Tillotson.8
     Her father died on 27 Mar 1853, when Lucy was 15 years old.18 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Trigg Co., Kentucky, in the household of her mother, Emily J. Tillotson.19
     Lucy married Robert James Cooper on 12 Dec 1860 in Trigg Co., Kentucky, at her mother's home, with S. B. White officiating.10,11
     Lucy and Robert appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Lafayette, Christian Co., Kentucky, enumerated 5 Sep 1870, reporting real estate valued at $1,000 and personal estate of $10,000. Their children Emma, Robert, William and James were listed as living with them, as were Emily Ragedale, age 19 and apparently a relative of hers, William Culverhouse, a store clerk, Sallie Deam, age 25 and Laura Deam, age 2, and Eliza J., a servant.20
     Lucy and Robert appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Christian Co., Kentucky, enumerated 7 Jun 1880. Their children Emma, Robert, William and James were listed as living with them, as was his brother Emmet.21
     Her husband died on 23 Jun 1896.22
     Lucy appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky, in the household of her son Robert and his wife Nellie Crider.23 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky, in the household of Robert and his wife24 and on the 1920 Federal Census of Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky.25
     Lucy died on 29 Jul 1922 in Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky, at age 84.12,13 She was buried on 30 Jul 1922 in Riverside Cemetery, Hopkinsville, Christian Co., Kentucky.14,15
