Manie Saunders Cobb was born on 30 Dec 1885 in Paducah, Kentucky.6,7,8Her father died on 22 Dec 1895, when Manie was about 11 years old.14,15
She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Paducah, Kentucky in the household of her mother, Manie Saunders.5 She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Paducah, Kentucky in the household of her mother.16
Manie married Hewitt Hanson Howland, son of John D. Howland and Desdemona Harrison, on 16 Nov 1918 in Paducah, Kentucky, at her mother's home, with Rev. Peter H. Pleune, pastor of First Presbyterian Church, officiating.9,10,11
Manie and Hewitt settled in Indiana after their marriage.17 They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Indianapolis, Marion Co., Indiana, in the household of Louis Howland, his older brother.18
Manie and Hewitt moved to New York in 1925.19,20 They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of New York, New York, at 177 E 77th, enumerated 23 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home, for $141 per month. Also listed in the household are two Irish servants, a cook and a maid.21
Manie was named an heir in the will of her sister Reubie dated 9 Aug 1933, to receive her diamond bow knot pin, square diamond pin, big head pin, bracelet and wedding ring, all her clothing, furs, and linens, and all her silver flat and dishes and trays after specific items were given to others. She was also to receive, for her lifetime, all the rest of her estate, not specifically given to others, and the income from her real estate, stocks, and bonds.22
Manie and Hewitt appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of New York, New York Co., New York, at 117 East 77 St., enumerated 3 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $91 per month, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935.23
Manie was named an heir in the will of her brother Irvin, dated 24 Dec 1943, to receive for her lifetime the income from one-sixth of his estate.24,25
Her husband died on 10 May 1944 in Manhattan, New York Co., New York.26,27
Manie has not been found in the 1950 census, but was apparently still living in New York City.28
Manie died on 15 Aug 1967 in New York City, New York, at age 81.12,13
