     Maxwell Cobb Kirkpatrick was born on 9 Oct 1887 in Mullin, Mills Co., Texas.7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Mills Co., Texas, in the household of his parents, Moses Clark Kirkpatrick and Carrie Imogene Maxwell.4
     Maxwell attended Austin College, Sherman, Texas, from 1907 to 1909. He left school because of a football injury for which he was hospitalized for several months.16
     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Brownwood, Brown Co., Texas, at 509 Center Ave., enumerated 18 Apr 1910, in the household of James White and his family, where he is listed as a boarder along with one other man.17
     Maxwell married Inez Elizabeth James, daughter of George W. James and Jessie L. Ferris, on 6 Nov 1913 in Abilene, Taylor Co., Texas.10,11,12
     Worked for Walker-Smith Co., a wholesale grocery company. By 1910 he was an assistant shipping clerk. He soon became a traveling salesman, which required extensive travel and frequent relocations of the family. We know they were located in Sweetwater and Synder, Scurry Co., before 1920.18,19,20
     He registered for the draft for World War I on 2 Jun 1917, while living at Sweetwater, Texas, reporting he was employed as a traveling salesman by Walker Smith Co.21
     Maxwell and Inez appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Corpus Christi, Nueces Co., Texas, at 1019 Bayview Ave., enumerated 10 Jan 1920, reporting that the family rented its home. Their children Maxwell, Hugh and Elizabeth were listed as living with them.22
     Maxwell and Inez moved to Eastland Co. about 1921, where he was manager of the company's distribution center for the Ranger territory.16
     Maxwell died on 31 Aug 1922 in Ranger, Eastland Co., Texas, at age 34.13,14 He was buried in Oakview Cemetery, Mullin, Mills Co., Texas.15
