     Samuel Gideon Cobb was born on 29 Oct 1850 in Kentucky.7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Eddyville, Caldwell Co., Kentucky, in the household of his parents, Thomas Jefferson Cobb and Almeda Glenn.14,15 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Eddyville, Lyon Co., Kentucky, in the household of his parents.16
     Samuel married Alice Victoria Rogers, daughter of Darvin Rogers and Elizabeth E. Herring, on 21 Nov 1877 at the home of her brother, James in Lyon Co., Kentucky, with Rev. E. R. Harrison officating.10,11
     Samuel and Alice appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Eddyville, Lyon Co., Kentucky, enumerated 14 Jun 1880, apparently living adjacent to his parents, as they are listed as the preceding household. Seven year old Claudie Rodgers, a niece of Alice, is listed as living with them.17
     Samuel was a farmer.17
     Samuel died on 10 Feb 1882 at age 31.7,12 He was buried in Glenn's Chapel Cemetery, Lyon Co., Kentucky.13
