     John Herman Niemann was born on 9 May 1877 in Home City, Hamilton Co., Ohio.10,11,12
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Home City, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Gerhart Henry Niemann and Mina Maschmeier.4 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Home City, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.5
     He was a millwright at a machine factory by 1900.17,18
     John married Cora Marie Snyder, daughter of Charles William Snyder and Wilhelmina Louise Wieman, on 11 Oct 1905 in Bullittsville, Boone Co., Kentucky, with W. D. Early officiating.13,14
     John and Cora appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Snyder Park, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 88 Price Ave., enumerated 19 Apr 1910, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children William and John were listed as living with them.19
     John registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 6726 Jersey Ave, Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed as a new agent by News Company, in Cincinnati.3
     John and Cora appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 6726 Jersey Ave., enumerated 9 Jan 1920, reporting they owned their home, free of mortgage. Their children William, John and Hilda were listed as living with them.20
     He was a news dealer at a store by 1920, and with his own route by 1930. He reported in 1940 he had worked 50 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year.21,22,23,24
     John and Cora appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 6739 Lower River Rd., enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home worth $6000, and had a radio. Their children William, John and Hilda were listed as living with them, as well as her mother.25
     His wife died on 17 Apr 1937 in 6739 Lower River Rd., Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.26,16
     John appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 6739 Lower River Rd., enumerated 16 Apr 1940, reporting he owned a home valued at $5,000, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. His daughter Hilda was listed as living with him, as was Emma Gason, a housekeeper.27
     John registered for the draft for World War II on 26 Apr 1942, while living at Ham, Ohio, reporting he was self-employed as a news agent.28
     John appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 6739 River Rd., enumerated 12 Apr 1950, reporting he lived in a home that was not on a farm. Harriet Wilson, a housekeeper, was listed as a lodger in the household but seems more likely to have been a live-in housekeeper.29
     John died on 2 Sep 1952 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at age 75.15,16 He was buried on 5 Sep 1952 in Walnut Hills Cemetery.6
