      Charles Josiah Reigle was born on 24 Dec 1893 in Dallas Twp., Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania.7,8,9 He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Ross Twp., Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, John Jacob Reigle and Lois Adeline Martin.4
     Charles registered for the draft for World War I on 17 Oct 1917, while living in Dallas Twp., Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed as a carpenter for Goldbridge Co.14 He enlisted in the Quartermaster Corps, U.S. Army, 16 Dec 1917, at Ft. Slocum, New York. He was assigned to the Motor Transportation Corps, Co. 322.15,16,17
     He served in France from 29 Mar 1918 to 10 Jul 1919.18 He was promoted to sargent 16 Aug 1918.19 He was discharged 18 Jul 1919 at Camp Dix, New Jersey.20
     Charles married Flossie Mae Morton, daughter of Wesley David Morton and Clara Lamoreaux, on 20 Aug 1919 in Dallas, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, with Rev. Joseph R. Pennell officiating.10,11
