Narrative:

Giles L. Clark was born about 1845 in Kentucky.6,7,8
He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Caldwell Co., Kentucky, in the household of his parents, James G. Clark and Mary Willard Cobb.10
He appeared with his parents on the 1860 Federal Census of Dycusburg, Crittenden Co., Kentucky, in the household of his mother's brother Gideon.11,12
Giles has not been found in the 1870 census. By 1880 he had moved to Arizona Territory, where he was a miner.2
He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Tombstone, Pima Co., Arizona Territory, enumerated 8 Jun 1880, listed with a large number of other miners and mine workers of various trades. Each is listed separately, as if each had his own tent or cabin, but they may have been incorrectly listed independently when they actually lived in some sort of common lodging.2
He moved to Globe about 1890.13
Giles died on 5 Mar 1891 in Globe, Arizona Territory.9 He was buried on 6 Mar 1891, after a funeral at the Methodist Episcopal Church in Globe.3
His obituary says that he left a wife in Carlisle, New Mexico, who was reported to be quite sick. No other record of her has been found. Gold was discovered in Carlisle in 1880, and mine operated there until after World War II. The town is now a ghost town with only a few ruins remaining.3
