     Walter George August Fenker was born on 30 Aug 1912 in Oakley, Hamilton Co., Ohio.9,10,11 He was known to family as Whitey.21
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents, Fredrich Henrich Wilhelm Fenker and Louisa Wilhelmina Ruscher.4 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of his parents.5
     Walter married first Rowena M. Nutick, daughter of Harry Henry Nutick and Lillian Myrtle Armstrong, on 2 Mar 1935.12,13,14
     Walter and Rowena appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 3532 Brotherton Road, enumerated 6 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $26 per month, and that they had lived in Goshen in 1935. Their daughter was listed as living with them.22
     He was a printer at a printing shop, reporting in 1940 he had worked 44 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $1,400.23,24 He registered for the draft for World War II on 16 Oct 1940, while living at 3532 Brotherton Rd., Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, reporting he was employed by C. J. Krehbiel, in Cincinnati.2
