     Moritz Louis Gapsch Jr. was born on 28 Apr 1905 in Affton, Missouri.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents, Moritz G. Gapsch and Johanna Pruetzel.6 He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Affton, St. Louis Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents.15 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Carondelet Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, in the household of his parents.16
     Moritz married Edna Klingeman, daughter of William A. J. Klingeman and Julia [surname unknown], on 8 Mar 1931 in Eden Church, Affton, St. Louis Co., Missouri.11,12,13
     He was a laborer on a truck farm in 1930.16 Moritz applied for a Social Security Number 30 Nov 1936, while living at Union and Green Park Rd., Lemay, Missouri, where he was employed by Alpha Portland Cement Co., Lemay, Missouri.4 He owned a small nursery but also worked in a cement plant until his retirement. In 1940, working there as a miller, he reported he had worked 36 hours the last week of March, and had worked 44 weeks the prior year, earning $1,000.17,18
     Moritz and Edna appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lemay Twp., St. Louis Co., Missouri, on Lindbergh Blvd., enumerated 18 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $2,000, and had lived in the same town in 1935. Their children were listed as living with them.19
     Moritz owned a tavern (along with brother Robert) and the property was in an area later used for development, providing them a handsome profit. Mortiz claimed he had to quit school about 4th grade, but was able to retire early in life.17
     Moritz died in Jul 1979 in St. Louis, St. Louis Co., Missouri, at age 74.14
