Jennie Eldora Stingley was born on 1 Jul 1878 in Floyd Co., Iowa.6,7,8 She appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Rockford Twp., Floyd Co., Iowa, in the household of her parents, Walter Oregon Stingley and Mary Alice Gilmore.4Jennie married Samuel James Welburn, son of John Welburn and Lucretia Jane Agy, on 31 Mar 1897 in Laurel, Nebraska.9,10,11
Jennie and Samuel appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Laurel, Cedar Co., Nebraska, enumerated 4 Jun 1900, reporting they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Their children Lawrence and Jennie were listed as living with them.16
Jennie and Samuel moved to South Dakota by 1909.17 They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Illinois Twp., Hyde Co., South Dakota, enumerated 19 Apr 1910, reporting that they were renting their farm. Their children Jennie, Walter and Selma were listed as living with them, as was Charles Collins, age 27, a hired man.18
Jennie and Samuel moved to Nebraska by 1918.
Jennie died on 2 Oct 1918 in Dixon, Nebraska, at age 40, from the flu.12,13,14 She was buried in Laurel Cemetery, Laurel, Cedar Co., Nebraska.15
