     Ahira Griswold Tracy was born on 23 Mar 1799 in Vermont.6,7,8
     He was probably the male under age 10 listed in the household of his father, Isaac Tracy, in the 1800 Federal Census of Shelburne, Chittenden Co., Vermont.15
     His mother died on 8 Feb 1801, when Ahira was less than two years old.16,17,18
     He moved to Sheldon, Franklin Co., with his father and step-mother before 1810. He was probably the male age 10 to 16 listed in the household of his father in the 1810 Federal Census of Sheldon, Franklin Co., Vermont.19
     Ahira married Huldah Gilbert, daughter of Elam Gilbert and Susan [surname unknown], on 9 Mar 1826.9,10,11
     Ahira appeared on the 1830 Federal Census of Sheldon, Franklin Co., Vermont, with a household consisting of one male under age 5 (son Harmon), and one age 20 to 30 (himself), one female under age 5 (daughter Mary), one age 5 to 10 (unknown]), and one age 20 to 30 (wife Huldah.)20
     Ahira appeared on the 1840 Federal Census of Sheldon, Franklin Co., Vermont, with a household consisting of one male age 5 to 10 (son Dexter), one age 10 to 15 (Harmon), and one age 30 to 40 (himself), and one age 70 to 80 (his father-in-law, Elam Gilbert), one female age 10 to 15 (daughter Mary), and one age 30 to 40 (wife Huldah). His father-in-law was shown as receiving a Revolutionary War pension.21
