     Eliza E. Dart was born on 1 Jan 1844 in Mt. Pleasant, Iowa.8,9,10
     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., Iowa, in the household of her parents, William Samuel Dart and Marietta Cobb.19 She appeared on the 1856 State Census of Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., Iowa, in the household of her parents.20 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Oskaloosa, Mahaska Co., Iowa, in the household of her parents.21
     Eliza married Joseph A. Ankeney, son of John Ankeney Jr. and Rachel Ruckman, on 12 Oct 1864 in Mahaska Co., Iowa.11,12,13
     Eliza and Joseph moved to Des Moines by the mid-1860s.22 They appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, enumerated 20 Jul 1870, reporting real estate valued at $11,000. Their children Helen and Lora were listed as living with them, and her parents are shown as living in the same building.23
     Eliza and Joseph appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, at 210 Water St. (previously called 1st St.), enumerated 30 Jun 1880. Their children Helen, Lora, Alice and Walter were listed as living with them, as were her parents, his nephew Charles E. Ankeney, age 25, and Hannah Nelson, age 22, a servant.24
     Eliza and Joseph appeared on the 1885 State Census of Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, at 210 1st St. Their children Helen, Lora, Alice and Walter were listed as living with them, as was her mother, and Ellie O'Brien, a cook, and Charles Newburger, a laborer.25
     Eliza loaned her mother's widowed sister, Sarah, a total of $462.42 in four transactions from 15 Mar 1892 to 5 Oct 1897, of which $182.35 was repaid.26 She was named an executrix and an heir in the will of her aunt Sarah, dated 28 Feb 1895 in Des Moines, Iowa, in which she was to receive half the entire estate, shared with her cousing Ida Maria Street.27
     Eliza and Joseph moved to Florida by 1900, in an attempt to improve his health.28 They appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Ankona, Brevard Co., Florida, enumerated 7 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their farm. Their son Stewart was listed as living with them, as was her mother, and Emma B. Fletcher, who was listed as a visitor.29
     A final report of her aunt's estate was filed 27 Oct 1906, reporting expenses had exceeded receipts by $97, without payment of her claim for $1,750 for the unpaid balance on her loans to her aunt. She had waived her claim, but with her cousin Ida Maria Street had received title to the residence at 703 Euclid Ave., Des Moines, which was for sale for $2,500, subject to a mortgage of $500. The estate was then closed.30
     Her husband died on 29 Jul 1908 in Asheville, North Carolina, where he was taken for treatment.31,32,33
     On 14 Sep 1908 the probate court authorized distribution of her husband's life insurance payment of $4,772, of which by law one third, or $1,591, was to go to her and the other two thirds to be split between their three surviving children.34
     Eliza returned briefly to Des Moines after the death of her husband, boarding at 1468 4th St., before returning to Florida.35 Eliza appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Ankona, Saint Lucie Co., Florida, enumerated 25 Apr 1910, listed as a boarder in the household of Carolina Abdell. It appears they were partners in a fruit growing business, growing pineapples.36
     Eliza moved to Idaho, where her daughter Alice was living, by 1920. She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Moscow, Latah Co., Idaho, in the household of her daughter Alice and her husband, Carl L. von Ende.37
     Eliza returned to Des Moines, where her daughter Lora was living, by 1930.
     Eliza died on 11 Mar 1930, at the home of her daughter Lora, 4232 Pleasant St., Des Moines, Polk Co., Iowa, at age 86.14,15,16 She was buried on 13 Mar 1930 in Woodland Cemetery, Des Moines, Iowa, in the Ankeney family lot.17,18
