Martha Jane Sholter was born on 24 Aug 1914 in Lewisburg, Union Co., PennsylvaniaG.4,5,6
     She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Lewisburg, Union Co., Pennsylvania, G in the household of her parents, Charles D. Sholter and Daisy M. Allen.22 She appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Lewisburg, Union Co., Pennsylvania, G in the household of her parents.23
     Martha married first William Frank Elias, son of Frank Elias and Susanna Dobo, by 1932, but no record of the marriage has been found.7,8,9
     Martha and William were divorced by 1939, apparently, as he remarried in 1939.10,11
     She appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Lewisburg, Union Co., Pennsylvania, G in the household of her parents.24
     Martha married second Joseph Robert Bowes, son of Newton A. Bowes and Jenneta Gemberling, 18 Jun. He was the widower of Clara Baney.12,13,14
     Her second husband died on 29 Dec 1947 in Lewisburg, Union Co., PennsylvaniaG.25,26
     Martha married third Allen Clifford Price, son of McClellam Price and Lavina King, on 16 Jun 1948 in Stroudsburg, Monroe Co., PennsylvaniaG, at the Lutheran parsonage, with Rev. P. N. Hohlsen officiating. He had previously been married to Harriet B. Carlton.15,16,17
     Martha and Allen appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Lewisburg, Union Co., Pennsylvania, at 116 St Anthony St. G, enumerated 5 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm. Their son Allen was listed as living with them, as were her children Patricia Ann and Joseph R. Bowes Jr.27
     She was doing house cleaning at a university by 1950, reporting in the 1950 census she had worked 24 hours the prior week. She also reported working 12 weeks in 1949, earning $152 in wages or salary.28
     Her third husband died on 3 Nov 1971 in Lewisburg, PennsylvaniaG.29,30
     Martha married fourth Jay Nicholas Simons, son of Bertha Mae Simons, in Jun 1976 in Union Co., PennsylvaniaG. He was the widower of Anna Marie Styers.18,19,20
     She retired in 1979 from Par-Knit Manufacturing in MifflinburgG.31
     Her forth husband died on 19 Apr 1984 in Lewisburg, PennsylvaniaG.32,33,34
     Martha died on 11 Feb 1998 at 83 years of age.21
