7,8,9 Ethel and Caleb appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 3825 Eastern Ave.
G, enumerated 5 Jan 1920, reporting that they rented their home, apparently one of seven units in the building. Her mother, Katherine E. Boyer, was listed as living with them.
15 Ethel and Caleb were divorced before 1930, apparently, as she is listed as divorced in the 1930 census, living in their former apartment with her mother, while he is living with his brother, listed as married.
10,11 She appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio,
G in the household of her mother, Katherine E. Boyer.
16 She was saleswoman at a department store after she and her husband separated.
17 An Ethel Cobb and Catherine Jackson appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, at 584 Delta Ave.
G, enumerated 3 Apr 1940, who may be Ethel and her mother. But the entry is quite irregular, and if it is them much of the information recorded is incorrect. Ethel is listed as head of household, but instead of being shown as a separate household as that implies, they are listed as in the household of Louis Tammer and his wife Elizabeth, who best as can be determined were not related to Ethel or her mother. Ethel is listed as age 60 while she was actually 48, and Catherine is listed as her daughter-in-law, age 59 when she would have been 73. The reasons for suspecting this was them despite the irregularities are the combination of the two less than common names, that neither Ethel or Katherine have been found elsewhere in 1940, and that no other records of the Ethel and Catherine as recorded in this record can be found.
18 Ethel died on 28 Mar 1977 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio
G, at age ~85.
12 She was buried in Mount Washington Cemetery, Mount Washington, Hamilton Co., Ohio
