Iris Brandau was born on 26 May 1892 in TennesseeG.4,5,6
     Her mother died on 3 Jun 1899, when Iris was 7 years old.17,18
     She appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee, G in the household of her father, Dr. John William Brandau.19
     She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee G, in the household of her father, and stepmother, Carrie M. McKesson.20
     Iris married first William King Harrison, son of David Agust Harrison and Sallie King, on 5 Jan 1920 in Montgomery Co., TennesseeG.7,8 She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee G, in the household of her father.21
     Iris and William were divorced on 8 Jun 1926 in Montgomery Co., TennesseeG.9
     Iris married second Julien Francis Gracey Jr., son of Julien Frank Gracey and Minnie Irene Thomas, on 14 Sep 1926 in Clarksville, Montgomery Co.G, with Rev. Roy H. Biser, minister of First Christian Church, officiating.10,11,12
     Julien purchased the home on College St. that had been owned by Iris's father until his death, from his wife and her four brothers. They lived there until they moved to Texas. The home was later acquired by Austin Peay State University and became the residence of the University's President.22,23
     Iris and Julien appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Clarksville, Montgomery Co., Tennessee, at 703 College G, enumerated 7 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $7,000 and owned a radio. Their daughter was listed as living with them, as was Annie Martin, an 18-year-old listed as a nurse.24
      On 24 Jun 1937 Julien transferred to Iris the home at College and Henry Sts., ClarksvilleG, that has been the home of her father, which Julian had purchased in 1930 from the heirs. The transfer included all the personal property in it, including all furniture, chinaware, and silverware. The property was subject to a first and second mortgage.25 On 19 May 1938 Iris sold the home, without the personal propertly, to James and Duncan Crockarell. The buyers agreed to assume the first mortgage.26
     Iris and Julien were divorced about 1939.13,14,15
     Iris and her daughter moved to Texas in late 1939 or early 1940.27 Iris appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Houston, Harris Co., Texas, at 5204 Austin St. G, enumerated 5 Apr 1940, listed as a lodger in the household of Emma B. Wallace, a widow, and her adult son and daughter. Her daughter was listed as living with her, and they reported they had been living in Clarksville, Tennessee, in 1935.28
     Iris died in Jul 1977 at age 85, listed as living in Houston, TexasG.16
