Because elastic lines are paths between connection points or anchors the ends are precisely located. This leads to line styles that would otherwise be difficult to create. Imagine the line you see as the result of placing 2 or 3 lines of different width exactly on top of one another.
In sequence:
2 pt Yellow over 5 pt Purple over 7 pt Cyan
1 pt Yellow over 3 pt Black
0 pt Black Dashed over 3 pt Yellow
2 pt Black over 3 pt Yellow over 5 pt Red
0 pt White Dash-Dot over 3 pt Black
1 pt Black over 3 pt Yellow over 5 pt Black
