The German Origins of the Gapsch Family
The Gapsch family originated in small villages a few miles east of the city of Leipzig, in the Kingdom of Saxony. The area is in the eastern part of present-day Germany, in what was the German Democratic Republic (East Germany) after World War II until the reunification of Germany in 1990.
