     James Berkley Wood was born on 27 May 1884 in Howard Co., Missouri.7,8,9
     He moved to Sarcoxie, Missouri, with his parents in 1898.6
     His father died on 11 Feb 1899, when James was 14 years old.18
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Sarcoxie, Jasper Co., Missouri, in the household of his mother, Julia Ann Barkley.4
     He began to work for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway, commonly known as the Frisco Railway, in 1903. He continued with them the rest of his life. He became a depot agent by 1920.19,20,21,22
     James appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Thomas, Custer Co., Oklahoma, on Second St., enumerated 19 Apr 1910, as a roomer in the home of Sydney King and his wife and six children.23
     James married Lucille Ella Cobb, daughter of Giles Akin Cobb and Adeline M. Cash, on 25 Oct 1910 in Carmen, Alfalfa Co., Oklahoma, with Rev. William R. Johnson, minister of the Methodist Episcopal Church, officiating.10,11,12
     James and Lucille moved to Frederick, Oklahoma, where they lived for two months, then they moved to Pawnee.6
     James registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at Pawnee, Pawnee Co., Oklahoma, reporting he was employed as an agent for the St. Louis-San Francisco Railway in Pawnee.1
     James and Lucille appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Pawnee, Pawnee Co., Oklahoma, on E St., enumerated 5 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their home. Their children James and Joseph were listed as living with them, as was his mother, Julia Ann Barkley.5
     James and Lucille appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Pawnee, Pawnee Co., Oklahoma, at 709 Elm, enumerated 4 Apr 1930, reporting they owned a home valued at $6,000, and did not own a radio. Their children James and Joseph were listed as living with them, as was his mother.24
     James died on 22 Mar 1932 in St. Louis, Missouri, at age 47.13,14,15 He was buried on 25 Mar 1935 in Highland Cemetery, Pawnee, Pawnee Co., Oklahoma.16,17
