Narrative:

Harry Fielding Wynne was born on 27 Jul 1866 in Union, Union Co., Oregon.8,9,10 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Cottage Grove, Lane Co., Oregon, in the household of his parents, Dr. Armand L. Wynne and Sarah Ellen Perkins.6

After completing his studies in the public schools, Harry learned the trade of a steam engineer on the Northern Pacific railway, working on the road for six years. The following six years he was employed as a stationary engineer, working in different places in Washington, California, and Idaho. Returning to Cottage Grove in 1895, he operated a steam engine for Booth & Kelly for a while, and then assumed charge of a quartz mill in the Bohemia district, working for Hellma & Music. Returning to the employ of Booth & Kelly, he worked in the company's saw-mill, at Saginaw, Ore., until 1900.5,17

He carried a full line of hardware, having a stock valued at $2,500, and also handled agricultural tools and implements of all descriptions, having a large trade in this line as well as in his regular line of goods.5,19,20,21,22
He was described in the style of the day in a local biography as "industrious and enterprising, he has never been content to lead a life of idleness, but as a young man developed his native mechanical talent by a constant exercise of his skill in that direction, and is now giving proof of his mercantile ability as one of the active merchants of Cottage Grove."5
Harry and Jennie appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Cottage Grove, Lane Co., Oregon, at River St., enumerated 26 Apr 1910, reporting that they owned their home. Their daughter Naomi was listed as living with them.3

Politically he was an earnest supporter of the principles of the Democratic party, and fraternally a member of the Woodmen of the World, and belonged to Cottage Grove Blue Lodge, No. 52, A. F. & A. M.5
Harry died on 22 Dec 1927 in Lane Co., Oregon, at age 61.14,15,16
