     George Pettit Spady was born on 7 Jun 1902 in 150 E. 34th St., Portland, Oregon.9,10,11 He was known to family as Putch.6,19
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of La Center, Clark Co., Washington, in the household of his parents, George Spady and Lydia Brill.5
     George married Lucretia Mathilda Gapsch, daughter of Robert Edward Gapsch and Matilda Henriksdotter, on 11 Oct 1922 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington, with Rev. Luther B. Deck, Evangelical Lutheran pastor, officiating.12,13,14
     Putch and Lucretia appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, at 1234 East 9th St. North, enumerated 8 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home valued at $1800, and owned a radio. They were living next door to her brother Gus and his family. Their children Myron and Herbert were listed as living with them.20
     Putch and Lucretia appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, at 4521 Holgate, enumerated 5 Apr 1940, reporting that they owned a home valued at $3,000, and had lived in Clackamas Co., Oregon in 1935.      He was a pressman, working for many years at the Oregonian in Portland. In 1940 he reported he had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and had worked 52 weeks the prior year, earning $2,200. He later worked in San Francisco in the plant that printed the San Franciso Chronicle and the Examiner.22,23,24,25
     George died on 2 Dec 1981 in Salem, Oregon, at age 79.15,16,17 He was buried in Pratum Cemetery, Pratum, Marion Co., Oregon.18
