George Pettit Spady was born on 7 Jun 1902 in 150 E. 34th St., Portland, Oregon.9,10,11 He was known to family as Putch.6,19He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of La Center, Clark Co., Washington, in the household of his parents, George Spady and Lydia Brill.5
George married Lucretia Mathilda Gapsch, daughter of Robert Edward Gapsch and Matilda Henriksdotter, on 11 Oct 1922 in Vancouver, Clark Co., Washington, with Rev. Luther B. Deck, Evangelical Lutheran pastor, officiating.12,13,14
Putch and Lucretia appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Portland, Multnomah Co., Oregon, at 1234 East 9th St. North, enumerated 8 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home valued at $1800, and owned a radio.
