     John Alonzo Corbin was born on 23 May 1905 in Louisiana.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Pollock, Grant Parish, Louisiana, in the household of his parents, William A. Corbin and Ollie C. Smith.4
     His mother died in 1919, when John was about 14 years old.26,27 John appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Grant Parish, Louisiana, in the household of his father.5
     John enlisted in the U.S. Navy 16 Sep 1922. He served as a pharmacist mate in the medical corps until his discharge 26 Jan 1945.28,29,30,31
     John married first Helen Ann Kowker, daughter of William Kowker and Petrona Keutch, on 17 Jan 1929 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, with Rev. George E. Nicholi officiating.11,12,13
     John appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Shields Twp., Lake Co., Illinois, enumerated 12 Apr 1930, as a roomer in the Hospital Corpmans Quarters at the United States Naval Hospital, listed as a pharmacist mate.29 Helen appeared on the 1930 Census of Queens, Queens Co., New York, in the household of her sister Anna and her husband Thomas Reese.32
     John and Helen appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of San Diego, San Diego Co., California, at 4719 Utah, enumerated 25 Apr 1940, reporting they rented their home, for $25 per month, and that they had lived in Los Angeles, in 1935.33
     John became a history teacher after he was discharged from the Navy.34
     It would appear that John and Helen divorced by 1947, as he remarried in April of that year. However she reported they were separated on the 1950 census, and no record of a divorce has been found.35,36
     John married second Harriet Gertrude Thiemann, daughter of Joseph Thiemann and Elizabeth Luedke, on 12 Apr 1947 in Clark Co., Nevada, with Rev. F. C. Lovett officiating. She had previously been married to Sidney Asp Lunceford and Frans Julius Mattson.14,15
     John and Harriet appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Austin, Travis Co., Texas, at 5106 Ave 7th, enumerated 11 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm, her 11-year-old daughter Shirley by her previous marriage was also listed in the household.37
     John was arrested in Austin, Texas, 10 Mar 1952 on charges initiated by his wife that he had raped her 13-year-old daughter by a prior marriage. He was released on a $10,000 bond, but then arrested again in 19 Apr. His wife and her daughter had disappeared but were then located in Minnesota. Austin police offered to pay their expenses to return to testify. John was again released on $10,000 bond. No further record of the case has been found.38
     John married third Valera Catherine Vaubel, daughter of Rev. Edward George Vaubel and Catherine Angelia Glabe, on 15 Aug 1957 in Washington, Illinois.16,17,18
     John and Valera settled in Kingsville, Texas, where he had been living, after their marriage.39
     John and Valera were divorced in 1958.19
     John married fourth Agnes Marie Unterbrink, daughter of Louis H. Unterbrink and Anna M. Potts, on 16 Feb 1990 in Kleberg Co., Texas. She had previously been married to Cornelius Bartley Dunegan.20,21
     John died on 12 Sep 1996 in Kleberg Co., Texas, at age 91.22,23,24 He was buried on 17 Sep 1996 in Chamberlain Cemetery, Kingsville, Kleberg Co., Texas.25
