Narrative:
Fern C. Glabe was born on 15 Sep 1908 in Illinois.8,9,10She moved to Kansas with her parents about 1909. She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Rosalia Twp., Butler Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents, Harvey Sebastian Glabe and Nettie Lou Bess.5
She moved to Indiana with her parents before 1919.
She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Monon Twp., White Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents.24
She moved to Michigan with her parents in 1927.25
Fern married first LeRoy M. Carpp, son of Albert J. Carpp and Mary Helen Rockhill, on 3 Aug 1927 in Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, with Rev. C. T. Hill offciating. He was the widower of Violet B. Vasbinder.11,12,13
Fern and LeRoy appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Flint, Genesee Co., Michigan, at 1025 Simcoe Ave., enumerated 8 Apr 1930, reporting that they owned a home valued at $6,000, and owned a radio. It appears they were renting a portion of the home to Fred Noble and his wife, for $40 per month.26
Fern and LeRoy adopted Harold Douglas Carpp between 1930 and 1935.27,28
LeRoy sued Fern for divorce in Genesee Co., Michigan, on grounds of extreme cruelty. The divorce was granted 28 Jan 1935, with alimony of $1, a property settlement, and he was given custody of their adopted son.14
After her divorce, Fern took back her maiden name, and returned to school. She was attending Michigan State Normal College (now Eastern Michigan University), in Ypsilanti in 1939.29
By 1941 she had returned to her parent's home in Flint, and was working as an organist.30
Fern married second Howard Eugene Branham, son of Charles N. Branham and Esther Amelia Winberg, on 19 Jul 1941 in Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, with Rev. Edward W. Raimer offciating. He had previously been married to Ruth K. Zackman.15,16
Howard sued Fern for divorce in Battle Creek, Calhoun Co., Michigan, on grounds of extreme cruelty, accusing her of infidelity. The divorce was granted 3 Dec 1945, with no alimony.17,18
Family sources state that Fern next married a Mr. Adderman, but no documentation of that marriage has been found.19 They lived in Wyoming after their marriage, according to family lore.31
Fern married fourth Perry Temple Fallis, son of Perry White Fallis and Leonora Hayne Wells, before 1958 in Detroit, Michigan. He was the widower of Gwendolyn Myrtle Hammond.20,21
According to family lore, Fern and Perry moved to San Antonio, Texas, for a time, where they ran a hamburger stand, and later moved to southern California.31 When that might have been is unclear, however, as they were registered to vote with his previous address, 4637 Lakewood Blvd., Los Angeles, in 1958, 1960, and 1962.32
Her husband died on 5 Oct 1963 in Los Angeles Co., California.33
Fern died on 23 Jul 1998 at age 89.8,22 She was buried in Green Hills Memorial Park, Rancho Palos Verdes, Los Angeles Co., California, next to her parents.23
