     LaVerna Elizabeth Glabe was born on 12 Feb 1907 in Chatsworth, Livingston Co., Illinois.8,9,10
     She moved to Kansas with her parents about 1909. She appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Rosalia Twp., Butler Co., Kansas, in the household of her parents, Harvey Sebastian Glabe and Nettie Lou Bess.6
     She moved to Indiana with her parents before 1919. She appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Monon Twp., White Co., Indiana, in the household of her parents.15
     LaVerna married Eugene Irvin Daffern, son of William Grant Daffern and Emily J. Burch, on 20 Jun 1925 in Washington, Daviess Co., Indiana. He had previously been married to Catherine Frances Kittinger.11,12,13
     LaVerna and Eugene appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of New Albany, Floyd Co., Indiana, at 202 Market, enumerated 9 Apr 1930, reporting they rented their home for $30 per month.16
     LaVerna and Eugene moved between 1935 and 1940 from New Albany, which is directly across the Ohio River from Louisville, Kentucky, some 10 miles west to Georgetown.17 They appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Georgetown Twp., Floyd Co., Indiana, enumerated 15 May 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $4,000.18
     She was a machine operator at a coat factory by 1940. In the 1940 census she reported she had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and had worked 40 weeks the prior year, earning $575.18
     LaVerna and Eugene had moved to Burbank, California by 1949, when they were living at 1420 Ontario.19
     LaVerna and Eugene appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Burbank, Los Angeles Co., California, at 1420 Buena Vista, enumerated 20 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm. Their daughter was listed as living with them.20
     She was later a power machine operator at a brassier manufacturing company, reporting in the 1950 census she had worked 40 hours the prior week.21 They had moved to Riverside, California by 1955, when they were living at 2725 Tyler.22
     Her husband died on 30 Jun 1970 in Multnomah Co., Oregon.23
     LaVerna died on 7 Dec 2002 in Washington Co., Oregon, at age 95.14
