     Melvin Woodrow Heath was born on 17 Mar 1913 in Black Twp., Posey Co., Indiana.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Black Twp., Posey Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents, Evert Heath and Etha Alldridge.6 He appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Salem, Washington Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents.7
     Melvin married first Roberta V. Lyles, daughter of Augustus S. Lyles and Minnie Nicholson, about 1935.11,12
     Melvin and Roberta appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Salem, Washington Co., Indiana, at 201 South College Ave., enumerated 9 Apr 1940, reporting they were renting their home, for $10 per month, and had lived in the same city in 1935. Their daughter was listed as living with them.19
     Melvin was enlisted in the U.S. Marines 14 Apr 1944, and was discharged 1 Feb 1946.20
     He was a truck driver. In 1940 he reported that he has worked 60 hours the last week of March, and 52 weeks the prior year, earning $700. In the 1950 census he reported he had worked 56 hours the prior week, and worked 51 weeks in 1949, earning $2,730 in wages or salary.19,21
     Melvin and Roberta appeared on the 1950 Federal Census of Salem, Washington Co., Indiana, at 611 Hackberry, enumerated 3 Apr 1950, reporting they lived in a home that was not on a farm and they lived in the same house the year before.      Melvin married third Phyllis Wilora Grosenbach, daughter of William Henry Grosenbach and Laura Angelina Glabe, on 19 May 1973 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was the widow of William Rhodes Lacey.14,15
     Melvin died on 30 May 1986 in San Bernardino Co., California, at age 73.16,17 He was buried in Crown Hill Cemetery, Salem, Washington Co., Indiana.18
