     William and Elizabeth appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Pomfret, Windsor Co., Vermont, enumerated 14 Sep 1850, reporting real estate valued at $1,600. Their daughter Mary was listed as living with them, as was Paul Lake, a 65-year-old farmer.2
     His wife died on 12 Jul 1854 in Pomfret, Vermont.15
     William married second Martha Jackson Wood, daughter of Amos Wood and Eunice [surname unknown], on 31 Oct 1854 in Pomfret, Vermont, with Rev. Elisha Smith officiating.9
     Martha died on 11 Jul 1859 in Pomfret, Vermont.16
