     Emeline Field Cobb was born in Mar 1839 in Monroe Co., New York.9,10,11 She was probably the female under age 5 listed in the household of her father, Carlos Cobb, in the 1840 Federal Census of Rochester, Monroe Co., New York.18
     She moved to Buffalo with her parents before Jun 1843.19,20 She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Buffalo, Erie Co., New York, in the household of her parents, Carlos Cobb and Emeline Field.21 She appeared on the 1855 State Census of Buffalo, Erie Co., New York, in the household of her parents.5

She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Buffalo, Erie Co., New York, in the household of her parents.22
     She moved to New York City with her parents in 1862.23,24 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of New York, New York Co., New York, in the household of her parents.25
     Emeline was named executrix and an heir in the will of Carlos Cobb dated 6 Sep 1876 in New York City, to receive all his person and real estate.6 That will was proved 22 Sep 1877 in Surrogate's Court in New York Co., New York.6 As executrix, among other transactions, she collected $6,498 under a judgement issued 8 Jan 1877 in favor of her late father in a case that had been under litigation for five years.26
     Emeline married Dr. Wilson Fred Peterson on 30 Dec 1878 in Manhattan, New York.12,13,14

Her children Florence, Alice and May were listed as living with her, as were four servants: Mary and Catherine Stringer, age 38 and 34 respectively, and Hedvig Swensen and Helen Hammer, both age 30 and from Sweden.31
     Emeline appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Manhattan, New York Co., New York, at 27 West 86th St., enumerated 16 Apr 1910, reporting that she owned her home, free of mortgage. Her daughter Alice was listed as living with her, as were four servants: Mary and Catherine Stringer, age 40 and 35 respectively, and Esther Anderson, age 28, and Lena Tandbury, age 27, both from Sweden.32
     Emeline died on 6 May 1918 in Manhattan, New York Co., New York, at age 79.15,16 She was buried in Woodlawn Cemetery, Bronx, Monroe Co., New York, in her family plot, next to her husband.17
