     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Pine Grove Mills, Center Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her parents, Rev. Mortimer P. Crosthwaite and Rebecca [surname unknown].13 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Lamar Twp., Clinton Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her parents.14
     Barbara married James M. Chesnut, son of John Chesnut and Elizabeth Jane Flora, about 1883.10,11
     Barbara and James appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of McHenry Twp., Lycoming Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 22 Jun 1900, reporting they were renting their home. Their children Durbin, Eva and Lawrence were listed as living with them, as was Etta Casebeer, an 18-year-old servant.15
     Barbara and James appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Harrisburg, Dauphin Co., Pennsylvania, at 2022 Brookwood St., enumerated 26 Apr 1910, reporting they were renting their home. Their children Eva, Lawrence and June were listed as living with them.16
