     William Henry Jennings was born on 1 Oct 1857 in Decatur Co., Iowa.5,6,7
     He appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of High Point, Decatur Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents, Joshua H. Jennings and Elizabeth Bennett.15 He appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Grand River, Wayne Co., Iowa, in the household of his parents.16 He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Woodland Twp., Decatur Co., Iowa, in the household of his parents.17
     William married Rhoda Permela Catherine Adair, daughter of James Adair and Elizabeth Newlin, on 30 Nov 1882 in Decatur Co., Iowa.8,9,10
     William and Rhoda appeared on the 1885 State Census of Woodland Twp., Decatur Co., Iowa. Their children Elizabette and Marion were listed as living with them.18 They appeared on the 1895 State Census of Woodland Twp., Decatur Co., Iowa. Their children Elizabette, Marion, Cora, Effie, Mary, Letha, Jessie and William were listed as living with them.19
     William and Rhoda appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Jackson Twp., Lucas Co., Iowa, enumerated 5 Jun 1900. Their children Elizabette, Marion, Cora, Effie, Mary, Letha, Jessie, William, James and Walter were listed as living with them.1
     William and Rhoda moved to Missouri with most if not all their children by 1904. They appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Stanberry, Gentry Co., Missouri, enumerated 23 Apr 1910, reporting that were renting their home. Their children Cora, Letha, William, James, Walter, Iva, Delbert and Edith were listed as living with them, as were Burton E. Cain, widower of their daughter Elizabeth, and his daughters Ida and Grace. Their son Marion and his wife were apparently living nearby, as they were listed as the second preceding household.20
     William and Rhoda appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Cooper Twp., Gentry Co., Missouri, enumerated 31 Jan 1920, reporting that they were renting their home. Their children Walter, Iva, Delbert and Edith were listed as living with them.21
     His wife died on 26 Jan 1930 in Stanberry, Gentry Co., Iowa.22,23
     William appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Stanberry, Gentry Co., Missouri, enumerated 3 Apr 1930, reporting that he owned a home valued at $300 and did not own a radio. A grandson, William, son of his son Marion, was listed as living with him. His younger son Walter and his wife and child are shown as renting a portion of the dwelling from him.24
     He was working on the family farm in 1880. By 1885 he had his own farm, of 40 acres. He was a laborer in 1895, and a carpenter by 1900, continuing in that trade until his retirement.25,26,19,1,27,28,29
     William died on 29 Dec 1938 in Stanberry, Gentry Co., Missouri, at age 81.11,12 He was buried on 1 Jan 1939 in High Ridge Cemetery, Stanberry, Gentry Co., Missouri.13,14
