     George and Hannah appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Huntington Twp, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 17 Aug 1860, reporting real estate valued at $100 and personal estate of $50. Their children Lydia, Joseph, Clarissa and Elizabeth were listed as living with them, as was Moses F. Souder, age 12, who is listed last as if he is not their child.1
     George and Hannah appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Shickshinny, Luzerne Co., Pennsylvania, enumerated 25 Aug 1870, reporting real estate valued at $200. Their children Joseph, Clarissa and Elizabeth were listed as living with them, as was Frances Pifer, age 7, relationship unknown.2
     He was a basket maker in 1860, and a laborer by 1870.1,2
     George apparently died before 1880, as his wife is shown as a widow in the 1880 census.9
