     Amelia and Jacob appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 9 Jun 1900, reporting they rented their farm. Their children Edwind, William, Catherine and Estella were listed as living with them.15
     Amelia and Jacob appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Washington Twp., Tazewell Co., Illinois, enumerated 2 May 1910, reporting they owned their farm, free of mortgage. Their children Edwind, William, Estella, Gertrude and Rudolph were listed as living with them, as was his father, Jacob Hess Sr.16

Their son Rudolph was listed as living with them, Their son William and his family were apparently living close by, as they are listed next.18
     Her husband died on 20 Mar 1933 in Washington, Tazewell Co., Illinois.19
