      Mary E. White was born on 11 Apr 1848 in Ohio.7,8,9 She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Union Twp., Muskingum Co., Ohio, in the household of her parents, Joseph White and Elizabeth Lorimer.17
     She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Norwich, Muskingum Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of her father and stepmother, Sarah B. [surname unknown]18 She appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Adamsville, Muskingum Co., Ohio, in the household of her father and stepmother.19
     Mary married James M. Caldwell, son of Andrew S. Caldwell and Jane [surname unknown].10,11,12
     Mary and James appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Union Twp., Muskingum Co., Ohio, enumerated 9 Jun 1880. Their children Walker and Matilda were listed as living with them.20
     Her husband died in 1898 in Muskingum Co., Ohio.21
