     William A. Bush was born in Aug 1821 in Kentucky.4,5,6
     William appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Castalian Springs, Sumner Co., Tennessee, enumerated 28 Jun 1860, apparently boarding with William and Julia Crinn. He reported his occupation as "gentleman," and reported personal estate of $10,500.13
     William married first Elizabeth Weathered.7,8
     William and Elizabeth appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Gallatin, Sumner Co., Tennessee, enumerated 21 Aug 1870, reporting real estate valued at $8,025 and personal estate of $2,300. Their children Mattie and Robert were listed as living with them, as was Thacker Bush, age 73, who may have been his father.14
     William married second Harriett Taylor on 27 Jan 1879 in Sumner Co., Tennessee, with Rev. S. P. Chesnut officiating. She was the widow of David Hunter.9,10,11
     William and Harriett appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Sumner Co., Tennessee, enumerated 11 Jun 1880. His daughter Mattie was listed as living with him, as was his wife's son by her prior marriage, D. A. Hunter.15
     William and Harriett appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Sumner Co., Tennessee, enumerated 15 Jun 1900, reporting that they owned their farm, free of mortgage.3

     William died on 22 Jun 1907, at his home, Long Hollow Pike, Gallatin, Tennessee, at age 85.12
