     John Quakenbush was born about 1825 in North Carolina.5,6,7
     He was probably the male under age 5 listed in the household of his father, Jonothan Quakenbush, in the 1830 Federal Census of Greene Co., Indiana.12 He was probably the male age 10 to 15 listed in the household of his father in the 1840 Federal Census of Greene Co., Indiana.13 He appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Highland Twp., Greene Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents.2
     John married Permelia Jewel, daughter of John P. Jewel, on 1 Apr 1852 in Greene Co., Indiana.8,9,10
