Narrative:

Margaret Makinro Warren was born on 22 Dec 1847 in Texas.8,9,10
Her mother apparently died before 1850, when Margaret was about 2 years old.15 She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Panola Co., Mississippi, in the household of her father, James F. Warren, and stepmother, Eliza R. Glass.6 She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Red River Co., Texas, in the household of her father, and stepmother.16
Margaret married John M. Mims, son of Davis Russer Mims and Elizabeth Van Swearingen Cresap, on 26 Dec 1866 in Red River Co., Texas.11,12,13
After their marriage, Margaret accompanied John when he moved back to Arkansas. They first lived in Buckhorn, where he had lived before the war, which is now known as St. James.17 Their first son was born en route, at Ft. Smith.18
Margaret and John and their young son moved down the river shortly after the death of their daughter, Marcella. According to local lore, the child had so enchanged the neighbors that when the town of Hesstown was renamed after the Civil War it was named for her.19 Margaret and John appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Ozark, Franklin Co., Arkansas, enumerated 28 Jul 1870. Their son Oscar was listed as living with them, as was Mary Neleton, age 30, a housekeeper.20
Margaret died on 29 Dec 1873 at age 26.8,14
