     Albin Max Gapsch was born on 25 Dec 1894 in Taura, Königreich Sachsen.5,6,7 Albin arrived in Quebec, Canada, on 14 Oct 1911, aboard the steam ship Ionian.11,12
     Albin arrived in Niagara Falls, New York, on 26 Dec 1916, by trolley from Elmira, Canada, carrying $300, and stating that he was going to join his brother-in-law, Carl Schericht, at 381 Dill Pl., Brooklyn, New York.13,14,15
     He registered for the draft for World War I on 5 Jun 1917, while living at 160 N. 21st, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed as a mechanic at a knitting mill in Philadelphia.16
     He appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, at 2868 Water St., enumerated 12 Jan 1920, were he is shown as a boarder with Peter Winter and his wife, with two other lodgers as well.17
     Albin filed a Declaration of Intention to be naturalized on 21 Dec 1921 in District Court, Pennsylvania, while living at 2868 N. Water St., Philadelphia.18 He filed a Petition for Naturalization on 15 Feb 1924 while living at 856 E. Russell St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.19 He was naturalized on 26 Jun 1924.20
     Albin married Julia Schroth, daughter of Emily W. Schroth, in 1926 in Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania.8,9,10
     Albin and Julia appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, at 419 York St., enumerated 2 Apr 1930, reporting that the family owned a home valued at $5,000, and owned a radio. Their children Albin and Emily were listed as living with them.21
     Albin and Julia appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, at 419 W. York St., enumerated 6 Apr 1940, reporting they owned a home valued at $3,500, and that they had lived in the same house in 1935. Their son Albin was listed as living with them.22
     He registered for the draft for World War II on 27 Apr 1942, while living at 419 W. York St., Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, reporting he was employed by E. G. Budd Manufacturing Company, 22nd and Huntington Ave., Philadelphia.1
     Albin identified himself as a machinist when he arrived in the United States, but by 1930 called himself a knitter in a sweater mill.23,24,25,26,27 In 1940 he reported that he was a machinist in the automobile industry, and had worked 40 hours in the last week of March, but had not worked at all the prior year.22
     Albin died on 19 Mar 1947 in Philadelphia, Philadelphia Co., Pennsylvania, at age 52.4 He was buried on 22 Mar 1947 in Greenmont Cemetery.4
