     Martha Ella Trumbower was born on 5 Dec 1848 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.6,7,8,9
     She appeared on the 1850 Federal Census of Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio, in the household of her parents, John P. Trumbower and Sarah Ann Patterson.17
     She moved to Kentucky with her parents before 1860. She appeared on the 1860 Federal Census of Campbell Co., Kentucky, in the household of her parents.18
     Martha married James Alfred Cobb, son of John Cobb and Maria Caffyn, on 4 Nov 1869 in Cincinnati, Hamilton Co., Ohio.10,11,12
     Martha and James appeared on the 1870 Federal Census of Aurora, Dearborn Co., Indiana, in the household of his parents, John Cobb and Maria Caffyn.19
     Martha and James appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Aurora, Dearborn Co., Indiana, enumerated 3 Jun 1880. Their children Jesse, Grace and John were listed as living with them, as was her brother, Edwin Trumbower, age 14.20
     Martha was named an heir in the will of Maria Caffyn, mother of her husband, dated 3 Dec 1892 in Aurora, Dearborn Co., Indiana, in which she was to receive a 3/5 interest in a lot in Aurora and a strip of land from the home place. She also was to receive her choice of one of the four oil paintiing hanging in her mother-in-law's home.21
     Martha and James traveled over the western plains by covered wagon to Salt Lake City, Utah, with their three surviving childen. Their daughter Grace died there 13 Jan 1896.22,23

     Martha and James appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Los Angeles, Los Angeles Co., California, at 432 State St., enumerated 8 Jan 1920, reporting that they owned their home, free of mortgage.27
     Her husband died on 1 May 1927 in Los Angeles, California.28,29
     Martha applied for a widow's pension based on her late husband's Civil War service in May 1927, which was subsequently approved.30
