     Robert Huntting Jessup was born on 29 Aug 1872 in Montrose, Pennsylvania.7,8,9
     He appeared on the 1880 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, Hunting Cooper Jessup and Marina Modena Cobb.1
     Robert moved to Scranton by 1891, when he was working as a bookkeeper for Lackawanna Store Association, Ltd. He was boarding at 614 Adams Ave.18
     He was an insurance agent for Mutual Benefit Life Insurance Company of Newark, New Jersey by 1898 in Scranton, and a real estate agent with his own agency in Scranton by 1910.19,20,21,22
     Robert married Rosaline Agnes Scott, daughter of Rufus G. Scott and Mary Jane Farout, on 27 Apr 1898 in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, with Rev. E. A. Warrner officiating, before family and a large congregation.10,11,12
     Robert and Agnes appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Scranton, Lackawanna Co., Pennsylvania, at 1119 Mulberry St., enumerated 11 Jun 1900, reporting that they rented their home.23
     Robert and Agnes appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Scranton, Lackawanna Co., Pennsylvania, at 830 Webster Ave., enumerated 18 Apr 1910, reporting that they owned their home, which was mortgaged. Josephine Luks, an 18-year-old servant is listed as living with them.24
     Robert and Agnes moved to Detroit between 1910 and 1920. They appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Detroit, Wayne Co., Michigan, at 44 Ferry Ave. West, enumerated 8 Jan 1920, reporting that they rented their home.25
     He was manager of an insurance department in Detroit.26,27
     Robert and Rosaline moved to New York before 1930. They appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Livingston, Richmond Co., New York, at 100 Bard Ave., enumerated 15 Apr 1930, boarding with Emma C. Woolverton, with her four adult children, two servants and a handyman, and 14 other boarders.28
     Robert and Agnes appeared on the 1940 Federal Census of New York, New York Co., New York, at 611 West 112 St., enumerated 20 Apr 1940, as lodgers in the apartment of Sara Barrish. Also lodging there were a 60-year-old widow and 34-year-old statistician for a stock broker. Sara was renting her apartment, in a large building, for $150 per month. Robert and Agnes reported that they had lived in the same city in 1935.29
     Robert was an assistant manager for Prudential Insurance Company in New York. In that position in 1940 he reported that he had worked 40 hours the last week of March, and 50 weeks the prior year, earning $3,000.30,31,32
     Robert died on 17 Sep 1954 in Manhattan, New York Co., New York, at age 82.13,14,15 He was buried on 20 Sep 1954 in Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, in the family plot with his wife.16,17
