     He was baptized on 2 Jul 1820 in the Dielingen, Province of Westphalia.8
     He was confirmed in the Evangelische Lutherische Kirche, Brockum, Kingdom of Hanover, in 1835, ranking second in his class.4
     Gerhard married Marie Margarethe Charlotte Thölke, daughter of Friedrich Heinrich Thölke and Marie Elisabeth Schniers, on 22 Oct 1852 in Evangelische Lutherische Kirche, Brockum, Kingdom of Hanover.5
     He was maker of raw wooden products (Verfertiger grober Holzwaren) in Brockum.6
     At his death he was shown as a "Häusling," a landless crofter, living in a rented house of one of the farmers, for whom he had to work based on a contract.6
