     Charles Saxon Sprout was born on 3 Oct 1882 in Montrose, Pennsylvania.8,9,10
     He appeared on the 1900 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents, Lewis Hinds Sprout and David Watson.4
     Charles purchased the Montrose Laundry, which had been established 10 years before, in Mar 1904. He added a number of new machines to the facility, including a "Domestic," which could iron 25 collars at a time. He operated the business as late as 1909, when it was featured in the local newspaper, but seems to have sold it shortly after that.15,16
     He appeared on the 1910 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, in the household of his parents.5
     Charles reported his occupation in the 1910 census as a grocery salesman. He was manager of his father's milk route business until he sold it in 1912.17,18
     Charles married Lillian Bryan Williams, daughter of Robert Henry Williams and Virginia D. Cobb, on 10 Nov 1914 in Kings Co., New York.11,12
     Charles registered for the draft for World War I on 12 Sep 1918, while living at 56 Church, Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, reporting he was self-employed as an agent, apparently selling automobiles, as he used that same term in describing is occupation in the 1920 census.3,19 The Sprout family was selling automobiles by 1918 under than name of L. H. Sprout and Sons. Charles continued as an automobile dealer until his death.20,21,22
     Charles and Lillian appeared on the 1920 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, at 58 Church St., enumerated 27 Jan 1920, reporting that they rented their home. Her mother, Virginia D. Cobb, was listed as living with them.23
     Charles and Lillian appeared on the 1930 Federal Census of Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, at 58 Church St., enumerated 29 Apr 1930, reporting that they rented their home, for $25 per month, and that they owned a radio.24
     Charles died on 13 Aug 1935 in Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania, at age 52.13 He was buried on 15 Aug 1935 in Montrose Cemetery, Montrose, Susquehanna Co., Pennsylvania.14
