Narrative:

     Daniel Francis was born on 29 Mar 1764 in Wallingford, Connecticut.2
     Daniel moved to Wells, Connecticut, in 1789.2
     Daniel married Abigail Lathrop, daughter of Thomas Lathrop and Wealthy Ann Cobb, on 16 Aug 1789.4,5
     Daniel appeared on the 1790 Federal Census of Wells, Rutland Co., Vermont, (which was enumerated 4 Apr 1791, after Vermont became a state in Mar 1791) with a household consisting of one male over 16 (himself), and two females (wife Abigail Lathrop and daughter Lucinda.)6
     Daniel appeared on the 1800 Federal Census of Wells, Rutland Co., Vermont, with a household consisting of two males under age 10 (sons Hezekiah and Daniel), one age 26 to 45 (himself), one female under 10 (daughter Rosanna), one age 10 to 16 (Lucinda), and one age 26 to 45 (wife, Abigail Lathrop.)7
     Daniel and Abigail reportedly moved first to Burlington, Vermont, then, about 1812, to Louisville, New York, in the area which become Norfolk when that town was formed in 1823.8 (See map.)
     Daniel appeared on the 1820 Federal Census of Louisville, St. Lawrence Co., New York, with a household consisting of one white male age 16 to 18 (probably son Thomas, though he was only 15), one age 16 to 26 (Daniel), one over 45 (himself), one white female under age 10 (daughter Emeline), and one over age 45 (wife Abigail.)9 They were apparently living near his wife's sister Rosanna and her husband, Divan Berry Rich, as he is listed on the following line in the census record.10
     He was a farmer.11
     Daniel died on 9 Oct 1824 in Norfolk, New York, at age 60.2
